New Minimum Wage for Private Security Sector

Do you hire a private security firm? Please note that when signing contracts with security firms, they must comply with these basic conditions of employment for the sector.

The Department of Labour has published in the following Government Gazette, the Amendment of Sectoral Determination 6: Private Security Sector, South Africa. No786. 1 September 2015.

Monthly salaries for artisans will vary from R5374 to R6155 in the first year depending upon which area work is undertaken. Salaries for grade A security officers will vary from R3794 to R4571.

All the provisions of the Determination published in Notice 32524 on 25 August 2009, Notice 35633 on 28 August 2012, and Notice 36110 on 30 January 2013 are superseded by this Determination with effect from 1 September 2015.
