EECB & CBA to present at 2015 SAEE Convention

The Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency is delighted to announce that Swisscontact and the Clay Brick Association have partnered with the SAEE Convention that takes place 11-12 November 2015 at Emperors Palace. Gauteng, South Africa.

The CBA-Swisscontact consortium will present a half-day parallel session on day one of the Convention on energy efficiency in the clay brick sector. An exciting programme is being prepared, showcasing the positive initiatives undertaken by the brick manufacturers, together with numerous activities that have the objective of improving energy efficiency.

The afternoon session will look at the technical aspects of energy efficiency in the clay brick sector including technologies, energy audits and guidelines. The “soft” aspects of energy efficiency will also be addressed, such as policies, statutory regulations and access to finance. A more detailed programme structure will be released later in the year.

Luca De Giovanetti of Swisscontact explains, “Our primary objective at the SAEE Convention is to demonstrate our project work, in particular, with the Clay Brick Association where we are collectively making a difference in the energy efficiency arena.  Our focus will be to present how an inclusive market approach to the broader clay brick sector can be of benefit to other sectors as well.

“Besides focusing on the energy efficient technology at the Convention, we will emphasise the other support systems that remain critical to the success of a project of this nature, including access to finance, policy & regulations and demand, and how this can only be achieved in collaboration with multi-stakeholder engagements in the sector.”

Karel Steyn, President of the SAEE said, “We are thrilled to partner with Swisscontact and The South African Clay Brick Association who will highlight their current energy conservation project in the building sector.”
